Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) is the ability to make and/ or receive calls & SMS over a WiFi connection. VoWiFi enables calls over WiFi when mobile signal is limited or absent. It is a simple direct dial, as long as the users have a compatible phone with enabled VoWiFi. Additionally, it seamlessly switches to WiFi during an active call when moving from weak 4G to strong WiFi.
Requirements
Please ensure you have:
Active VoLTE
A mobile device that supports VoWiFi
Connect to Wi-Fi
Enable Wi-Fi calling feature on the device
Enabling VoWiFi
Before you enable, please make sure of the following:
Your device is running the latest operating system
It has the Wi-Fi calling feature
You see a VoLTE logo on your status bar
Then, follow these steps to activate Wi-Fi calling on your device:
iOS
Step 1: Go to ‘Settings’
Step 2: Tap on ‘Mobile Service’
Step 3: Look for ‘Wi-Fi Calling’ and toggle on the ‘Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone’.
Android
Step 1: Go to ‘Settings’
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on ‘Network & Internet’ or a similar option depending on your device
Step 3: Look for ‘Wi-Fi Calling’ or ‘Wi-Fi Calling Preferences’ and turn it on.
Once enabled, you will be able to see an icon on the top of the device screen indicating an active VoWiFi. This will also be subjected to different device brands/ models.
Charging Rate
Charges for VoWiFi calls will be as per the table below:

Community zone special rate is not applicable for Wi-Fi calls.

Data Utilization
VoWiFi calls will not utilize any data quota that has been allocated to your mobile plan. However, it will utilize the data quota from the WiFi data allocation. When making calls from a free app, your data quota would be utilised.
Unable to Make Calls
There are a few possible scenarios:
VoWiFi requires a strong Wi-Fi signal with at least 25 kbps bandwidth for automatic connection. You can move to an area with better signal strength.
If the Wi-Fi network has a login page (captive portal), you need to sign in with the provided username/ password.
Some public Wi-Fi networks may block WiFi calling services.
Private Wi-Fi networks (e.g., company WiFi) might have policies in place to block WiFi calling.
Check if your device meets the requirements for VoWiFi services.
Make sure your line is not barred, suspended, or terminated; otherwise, you won't be able to use VoWiFi.
